A large crowd attended the annual Old Folk’s Day held each year on the second Sunday of September. Everyone came prepared to read a poem, sing, do a reading or give some reminiscing of times they remembered from the church. The church gave gifts to the oldest gentleman and lady, Brother Tom and Jewell Johnson, and the runner-ups, Martin Hathcock and Bessie Hall. We had folks that had never been there before, we appreciate those and the regulars who never miss. There were many handmade gifts and donated gifts given to the “seniors” and we appreciate everyone for their efforts. We opened with prayer by the pastor and closed with prayer by Brother Tom Johnson, who pastored the church many years. It was a fun afternoon, see you next year on the second Sunday in September.
