The Carl Neiman Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met on September 9, 2010, in the Student Ministries Building of the Ava General Baptist Church, at 7 p.m. The meeting was opened by Regent Sandra Walker. The Pledge of Allegiance and American Creed were both recited. Prayer was led by Chaplin Sherry Beasley. Sandra read the President General’s message. The National Defense report was given by Vice-Regent Janet Ariciu. Chaplin Sherry Beasley reported on the illnesses and deaths that had occurred during our summer break. We were saddened to learn that Marjorie Greenwall passed away over the summer. Our prayers are with her family. Janet may have found some prospective members. We are excited about the prospect of new daughters joining our ranks. The District Meeting will be held in Springfield, Missouri, on September, 22. Our program was given by Cinita Brown. Cinita presented a wonderful talk on the history and creation of the U.S. Constitution. She allowed us access to a wonderful new book, about the Constitution. Her daughter Lynn assisted her. The meeting was adjourned with the membership reciting the Preamble to the Constitution and prayer by Chaplin Sherry Beasley. Snacks were provided by Sandra Walker and Janet Ariciu. Our next meeting will be on October 14th, at 7 p.m.
