It was a great weekend and the weather was so enjoyable. Even though we had some rain! The Apple Festival at Seymour was a huge success and I enjoyed being there campaigning for oldest grandson, Nicholas. He is running for Recorder of Deeds in Webster County. He I worked his booth with Sarah and Bob, Bonnie and Brittany Palmer. We enjoyed having them at the booth as they also handed out information about the Castle, Chateau Charmant.
I saw so many friends and neighbors and enjoyed visiting with so many of them. I also enjoyed meeting many of you who are faithful readers of this report and enjoyed giving you updates about the Olga community.
Those who organize the festival work long and hard. We have so many ties to the Seymour community as my husband, Junior worked for the city for many years. Also, daughter Jeanette and grandson, Nicholas lived there for many years as well. He attended some school there as well. Youngest son, Jay lived there with his family for many years as well.
Friday evening, I joined Jeanette, Sarah, Nicholas and little Reagan at the wedding of my great niece, Crystal Terrill. The wedding was held at the Seymour Nazarene Church and it was so beautiful. Her uncle, Mark Terrill officiated and it was nice to see so many family members present to support the couple.
Their wedding cake looked delicious and was so nice. I was afraid if I started to eat it, I would not have been able to stop. Crystal is the daughter of my niece, Melita Terrill and her husband, Steve. Crystal and Jason make such a great couple and we wish them all of life’s happiness.
Remember that the Downtown Olga writing group has been meeting on Thursday nights at Kindall Store. Charley Brindley would like to encourage you to attend as they have been having some great discussions.
I enjoyed going to church with oldest son, Jerry and his family at Seymour on Sunday. The grandkids had asked us to attend for grandparents day and there was a large crowd there. I really enjoyed attending with them and being in service with their family. Also, Saturday we attended a family picnic which was hosted by youngest son, Jay at the Seymour Park. It was nice to be able to get away for a while and enjoy the fellowship of family and all of the great food that was prepared.
Remember that the Starvy Creek Bluegrass Festival will be Sept. 16-18. Many in this community are fond of attending the festival, which is held near Conway.
Also, the fourth annual “Crusade for Christ” tent revival will be held on the main street of Elkland on Sept. 15-19. Bob Holden will be the evangelist and he is a great preacher. He filled in for Nicholas one Sunday and we all enjoyed his spirit filled message. Jean Grisham will be at the piano and there will be great music each night. It begins at 7 p.m. each night at 11 a.m. on Sunday morning. Sunday we will hold services in the church and there will be a potluck dinner following services. We hope to see you all there as you will receive a blessing. We have enjoyed the revival each year and it is always a pleasure to come together in one accord with fellow believers.
