Warrior Walker Wants Students To Walk With Him For Health, Peace of Mind and Charity

Stanley Bronstein age 51, aka the “Warrior Walker”, visits the 19th state of his 50 state USA walking tour when he walks on the campus of the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri on Tuesday, September 14, 2010. Bronstein, an attorney  CPA, embarked upon this tour on August 10, 2010 to raise public awareness of the need for Americans to exercise daily.

Bronstein will be starting at 7:00 AM on Tuesday, September 14, from Jesse Hall, which is located on the Mizzou campus.

He is scheduled to walk for 5 hours that day throughout the campus.

Since July 1, 2009, Bronstein has walked over 4100 miles in a little over 1600 hours and now walks 5 hours each day. His walking activities have resulted in a weight loss of 100 pounds and counting. His “Warrior Walking”, as he calls it, has given him the health and peace of mind he has sought throughout his entire life’s battle with obesity.

Bronstein now wants to share what he has learned with others. His 50 state tour culminates with a nationwide event the day after Thanksgiving (Nov 26, 2010). He calls this day “Walk Friday”, wherein he is calling on all Americans to begin a program of walking at least 30 minutes per day for at least 5 days per week.

Half the proceeds from Walk Friday are being shared equally with the following 10 charities: American Cancer Society, American Heart Assn, American Red Cross, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Global Hunger Project, National Council on Aging, Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, Reading Is Fundamental, Ronald McDonald House Charities and Toys for Tots.

Bronstein will be available for in-person and telephone interviews during his walk and afterwards, while in the Columbia area on the morning and afternoon of Tuesday, September 14, 2010.

He is also encouraging students to walk with him that day. As Bronstein says, “students are our future and walking with them is an honor and a privilege.”

He is scheduled to depart the Columbia area on Tuesday afternoon.
