Billy Fletcher went to Donald and Paulette Fletcher’s home at Fair Grove, Saturday, for a fish fry.
Norma Stillings and her friends, Bobbye Priddy and Betty Moore, went to Silver Dollar City, Tuesday, for a day at the Southern Gospel Picnic. It was a beautiful day and there was good music to be heard all over the park.
Norma and her daughter, Debra Bohnstedt drove to Mt. Vernon, Saturday to attend the Dawson/Bragg Family Reunion. These are descendants of Thomas C. and Elizabeth (Amy) Carter Bragg who settled in northwestern Douglas County back in the 1850’s. Some of these descendants remained in Douglas County, one large family of them went to Nodaway County in the northwest corner of Missouri and another (the Dawson’s family) grew up in the Mt. Vernon area.
Sam Frye was in Springfield a couple of times last week. He came back by Ozark, Saturday, and had lunch and a good visit with his brother-in-law, Palmer Pellham and Palmer’s daughter and son-in-law, Marty and Harvey Scott.
Sam talked by phone with his kids, Nancy Hooten and Chris King, in Texas. Things seem to be doing okay. He also talked with a niece at the nursing home. He learned that one of his nephews had died.
Sam attended the Hodges Family Reunion Sunday. He said that there was a good turnout and the food was good. He said that there was also a good turnout at church, Sunday.
