During our Wednesday night Bible study lesson we tried to get back to the basics and breakdown the steps we must go through to be right with God. Even though some may be saved, we felt it was important because people sometimes go through the actions and don’t truly understand what they are doing. By having a better understanding on what our own purpose is we can better carry out our lives doing God’s will.
Sunday morning we had an attendance of 16. We started out the morning with prayer request for members that are sick, for Bro. Marvin Graham and family, and for the revivals going on around the community.
The adults Sunday school class continued their study in Zech. chapter 12 “The Destruction of Jerusalem’s Enemies.” The children had their penny march and the congregation joined together in singing praises to the Lord. The morning message was delivered by Bro. Scott from Mark 1:14 titled “Fishers of Men”. That is the greater purpose we are all ordained by God to do. We must hide the word of God in our hearts and saturate ourselves with it. If we don’t have the word, how can we go and witness to others and win souls for Christ. Casting our line with no bait does no good. We can’t throw out a bare hook and expect the fish to bite! We need to step out on faith, deny ourselves and take on the cross and follow Him.
Our evening services started out with announcements. Bion Irwin will be visiting the church on October 17 and be the evangelist for the evening.
Song specials were given and accompanied by Bro. Larry, Bro. Lyndon, Bro. Scott and Sis. Virginia.
The evening message was delivered out of the book of II Timothy 3:1-5, “Rampant Sin In The Last Days” and also out of II Timothy 1-5, “Preach the Word.” Satan will creep in if we give up. Suffering will end, but blessings will always endure.
