Breedon News – Lisa Richards

Last Week’s News –
It has been a week of blessings and sadness. My cousin’s wife called me this morning and told me she was to be baptized after church. She had been saved the Sunday before. There were four new converts baptized the Sunday before also. Do you think there could be a great revival about to break out? We hope so.
The sadness is God has called one of his home. It’s not sad for her because she has a home of no pain, no worries, and no troubles, just an eternity of joy and happiness reunited with her dear loved ones that have gone on before. My what a happy time that must surely be, to see them waiting on the other side of the river.
Roy started our services this morning by reading James chapter 3 verses 1-8, how we are to control the tongue. Mercy sakes that is a hard chore because sometime it seems that it has a mind of its own and oops! Sometimes the little thing we call a tongue wants to cause hate and discontent. If we can control that little thing, we could bring so much joy and praise rather than hurt and destruction.
Lee led our Sunday school lesson from Matthew, chapter 14, the death of John the Baptist and some of the miracles of Jesus. For those of you that know the story of how John the Baptist died. This goes right along with what Roy had opened our services with “Control Our Tongue” in verse 6 and 7 of Matthew, chapter 14 says… “But when Herod’s birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod. Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask. Ooops! There goes that tongue and caused trouble for John the Baptist. To find out why John was in trouble, I suggest that you read Matthew chapter 14.
You know when everyone is in one accord with God, it is just amazing how everything just falls into place one after another.
I didn’t stay for the worship service. I left early to go to the baptizing, so I don’t know what Cub preached on. One thing I do know, is that our monthly singing will be September 10 at 7 p.m. So mark your calendar and prepare to be there. Just a reminder to a couple that lives on Chadwick Road, hint, hint, and others round about the community. Come on down.
Until next time, be safe and pray for everything to go good with everybody and bring joy not hate. Remember Jesus loves you.
