The weather has been absolutely beautiful, we have had some good rains, our son David is home for a visit, and due partly to some of the above, this column is pretty short this week.
Our sympathy goes out to the family of Bob West who passed away last week. Bob has been our mail carrier for several years. I worked with Bob for a year and a half when I worked at the post office and I really enjoyed being around him. He will be greatly missed in our community.
Laura and Ryan Melton had a baby shower at the church last Sunday and Laura said they got lots of useful and cute baby items for baby boy, Blake, who is expected around the middle of October. Ryan has been painting the baby’s room and finally got it all painted over the weekend. Of course the room is painted in colors to coordinate with lots of camouflage. It sounds really cute.
The volleyball team will play New Covenant at Bradleyville Friday night, Sept. 10 and then play an all-day tournament at Forsyth Sept. 11.
