Joyce “Jodi” Souder was born July 8, 1937, in Des Moines, Iowa to Lloyd and Eunice (Young) Souder. She went to meet her heavenly father on Aug. 28, 2010.
From an early age Joyce had a love of music. She loved to sing and play the piano. She worked at Zenith in Springfield for 20 years and was sure to sing Happy Birthday to each of her co-workers on their special day. Joyce loved going out to eat and spending time with her family and friends. When her health allowed, she enjoyed attending the First Baptist Church of Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert Souder.
She is survived by two sisters, Jo Ann Anderson and husband Wayne, Ava, and Dixie Phipps, Springfield, and three brothers, Roy Souder, Fordland, Larry Shelton, Springfield, and Ben Shelton, Squires.
Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, Mo. Graveside Services were held at 3 p.m. at Ava Cemetery, Ava, Mo. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 31, also at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
