John Lloyd Haden, son of Emmett and Linda Evelyn McDaniels Haden, was born April 26, 1918, in Ava, and grew up north of Hastings, Iowa.
John and Dorothy Combs were married May 28, 1941, and were blessed with one daughter, Linda. After a year in the Air Force, they lived many years in California and moved to Iowa upon retirement.
Dorothy passed away Dec. 2, 2007, after 66 years of marriage.
John passed away Aug. 16, in Iowa.
Others besides his wife preceding him in death were his parents; son-in-law, Paul Szczesniak; brothers, Garland, Marvin and Robert; and sister, Mildred Maloney.
Survivors are daughter, Linda; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Joyce Haden; and many relatives and friends in the Ava area.
Services were held Aug. 21 in Glenwood, Iowa.
