To honor the memory of Donna Loftin Cox, Ava National Honor Society, FBLA and Student Council are sponsoring the eighth annual Donna Loftin Cox Walk – a 30-minute pre-game walk on Sept. 10 at the Ava Bears football game.
All students and community members are invited to participate in the pre-game walk beginning at 6:15.
Participants must donate $10 or collect at least $10 in donations from sponsors. FBLA and NHS will have a registration and a donation table set up at the north end of the football field beginning at 5:45 p.m.
Following the walk, Ava High School Student Council will provide food and drinks for all participants.
All money raised will be donated to the Donna Loftin Cox Memorial Scholarship. Ms. Cox was an Ava High School Business teacher who lost her battle with cancer in 2001. To date, more than $7,700 has been donated to the Donna Loftin Cox Scholarship and the Relay for Life in Ms. Cox’s name.
