Macomb Homecoming and Community Reunion Sunday, September 5

The 59th annual Macomb Homecoming and Community Reunion will be held Sunday, September 5, at the Corinth Baptist Church at Macomb. Following the morning worship service, a basket dinner will be enjoyed together in the dining room of the David Blanton Memorial Building at 12:30 p.m. After dinner there will be plenty of time for visiting in the auditorium.
The program will begin at 2 p.m. with opening prayer by Corinth Pastor Allen Pritchard. The welcome will be given by Clyde “Junior” Steinert, with the response brought by Joseph Sowersby.
Danny Letsinger will serve as “Master of Ceremonies” and will keep the program moving right along. Officers presently serving are Chairman Danny Letsinger, Vice-Chairman Jo Ann Gray and Secretary/Treasurer Jerry Williams, Zelpha Jones will be in charge of registration again this year.
School was last held in Macomb in 1949. It is hoped that some of the students from those last years will attend this year and help to make this a special and memorable year. We are so thankful for the many former students who travel many miles to return to this cherished place of their childhood and enjoy seeing and visiting with others of their youth.
Those dedicated teachers of years ago who taught in the sturdy two-story schoolhouse provided an education for many fine families who grew up to be leaders, teachers, preachers, missionaries, nurses, farmers and business people in their community. Forgive us for boasting about our heritage!
