Norwood School Board Sets Levy; Approves Career Ladder Program

The Norwood R-1 School Board met on Aug. 17.

Administration reports included:

–Superintendent Don Forrest reported on bus loading, routes and safety procedures;

–Dana Webb, elementary principal, reported on MAP scores and professional development;

–Marcella Swatosh, high school principal, reported on district testing data and upcoming events.

The board approved the tax rate levy of $3.2858 for the 2010-2011 school year and a district career ladder plan to replace the state program if it is eliminated.

Also approved was an FFA national trip, a conflict of interest resolution, and bus routes for the 2010-2011 school year.

The next regular meeting will be Sept. 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the Norwood School Library, located in the high school building.
