Elsie Atchison is a life-long resident of Douglas County and the beautiful Ozarks.
At age 84, Elsie writes the Friendship column for the Herald, a task she has fulfilled for 10 years.
Elsie has attended Friendship Church since she was 4-years-old, her family started attending the church soon after it was built in 1930. Prior to construction of the Friendship Church, Elsie attended church services at the Huffman schoolhouse.
The mother of seven children, 4 boys and 3 girls, Elsie delights in the fact she has 27 grandchildren. Her favorite pastime is spending Sundays, and holidays, with family and all the grandchildren.
In her spare time, Elsie loves to sew and make quilts.
