Ava FFA Hosts CBCO Blood Drive On August 18

On Aug. 18, the Ava FFA Chapter hosted a blood drive sponsored by the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks at the Community Center. All the blood collected by the CBCO stays locals and supports 38 hospitals in Southern Missouri, northwest Arkansas and southeast Kansas. All blood and blood products transfused to patients in these hospitals come from donors like you.

Out of the 82 donors, seven were first time donors.

A total of 67 units of blood was collected, which is a record number of units collected for an August blood drive.

The FFA chapter and advisors appreciate those who came to give blood. The next blood drive will be Oct. 13, from 11:30 am to 5:30 p.m. in the Ava High School Performing Arts Center.
