Letter to the editor: McFarland

On a very serious note we have been confronted with the Presidents statement that he approves of the placing of a Muslim mosque in what is considered ground zero, in New York City. To do so is not only a slap in the face to all those who are serving our nation in the war on terror around the world but it is to trample on the graves of all those who lost their lives on 9/11. In addition to all the other, Un-American steps he has taken we feel it is time for us to stand together and say enough is enough and this is too much.

The legislation submitted by the president and pushed through congress, which members and media were informed should be approved first and understood later is for lack of a better term, taxation without representation, which you may recall was one of the reasons our founding fathers found it necessary to write the Declaration of Independence from the rule of King George. Incidentally, the majority of the American people, at least those who have had an opportunity to weigh in at the poles, do not want government control of their health care.

It is shameful for our Federal government to bring legal action against the state of Arizona for taking action to protect her borders from illegal aliens. They are not illegal immigrants; immigrants are those who seek legal means to enter the country. Does Mexico or any other country in the world extend the same rights to aliens as they do to their own citizenry? If you go into Mexico without documentation, what sort of “consideration” do you suppose you would receive from their government?

Further, to nominate a candidate to the Supreme Court who expressed the belief that we should consult European legal opinions, instead of the Constitution of the United States where any ruling is concerned, is ludicrous.

Instead of actually focusing on national and international concerns while we have men and women in uniform all over the world fighting a very real ”war on terror,” whether he realizes it or not, Mr. Obama seems more concerned about which group or entertainer is lined up for the next concert at the White House, which is reminiscent of

the 150 days of gladiatorial games promised by Caesar to distract the citizens of Rome from his abuses of power.

His method of stimulating tourism in the Gulf area, after taking over a month to even acknowledge that there was a problem there that required his attention in the first place, is to spend a weekend at the beach seems at best an understatement of concern and an overstatement of his opinion of himself.

His rock-star image may have been a great asset in his initial election but it has worn extremely thin on the political stage, America deserves and requires a “working” president who serves the “needs” of the nation, not his own personal agenda.

For you or I to get a drivers license we must present a birth certificate, yet the man in the White House was allowed to assume the highest office in our nation without one. One of the requirements of the office is that you “must” be a citizen of the United States. Mr. Obama lacks the physical evidence required to establish that as fact.

I believe the citizens of the United States need to wake up and petition for the impeachment of Mr. Obama for failure to honor his oath to defend and uphold the Constitution of the United States on the grounds that he is in fact a domestic enemy of the very Constitution he swore to defend.

These comments are my own opinions, based on what I have seen in the news and observed from personal experience. They are no reflection upon anyone or any organization and are not intended to be of a subversive nature. I feel it is my right and in fact my duty to stand in defense of the Constitution of the United States, and encourage everyone of like mind to do the same not only at the polls but in the public forum wherever and whenever possible. If we do not defend it we may very soon, lose the right to do so.

A concerned citizen,

Charles McFarland
