TriCounty Youth Horse Show In Ava Saturday

The 3rd annual TriCounty Youth Horse Show will take place this weekend on Saturday, Aug. 14, beginning at 4 p.m. at the MFTHBA arena, one mile north of Ava on Highway 5.  Spectators are encouraged to attend, admission is free.

According to organizers, interest in this annual event continues to exceed expectations as last year the show doubled in size with 78 horses and 187 entries.

The entry fee is $3 per class, with payback based on number of entries.  The first five places will receive ribbons; however, classes may be combined if there are not enough entries in a class.

Proper riding attire and proof of a negative Coggins test is required. No stallions allowed.

The youth event is sponsored by Taney County Riding Club, Douglas County Fox Trotting Horse Breeders Assn., MFTHBYA, and Mansfield Saddle Club.

In case of rain, the show will be rescheduled.
