Joe Lynn Turner, age 68, of Springfield, Mo., was born on Aug. 13, 1941 and passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2010 - Father’s Day.
He worked as a mechanic for Edel Ford and Case Equipment until 1979 when he started his own business “Turner’s Mobile Mechanical Service” where he continued to work until a short time before his death.
Joe married the love of his life, Bonnie Archer, in 1959.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Burl Turner and Lorene Haynes, and grandparents Henry and Maude Haynes, of Mansfield, Mo., stepfather Roy Dixon and stepsister Joan Arndt.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bonnie Turner, and their four children, Joy Rhodes and husband John, Jerry Turner, Jeff Turner and wife Patty, Randy Turner and wife Aimee; nine grandchildren, Holly, Timothy, Jera Jo, Cody, Dylan, Craig, Dakota, Hailey and Brittney; four great-grandchildren, Kylie, Ashley, Hope and Megan; and a sister, Sheila Hanks and husband, Larry, of Texas.
Funeral services and burial were on Wednesday, June 23. Many thanks goes to the Springfield Hospice workers as they were so kind at a time of great need.
