Douglas Co. Democrats Reorganization Meeting Will be Held Aug. 17

Democratic Party Committees in Missouri must re-organize every two years. County committees are made up of a man and women from each township or ward in the county. The reorganization meeting date for the county committees is Aug. 17, 2010 in the county seat of the various counties in a location and time designated by the chair.

The Douglas County Democratic Party will hold their meeting on Aug. 17 at the Little/Tost Training Center this time due to the heat. The meeting room in the courthouse is not air conditioned.

The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. Park in the parking lot next to the office and the training room door is in the back. The committee is required to elect one chair and one vice-chair, which must include both a man and woman. They must also elect one secretary and a treasurer, which also must include a man and woman. Each officer must live in the county in which they serve.

The committee will also be selecting committeemen and committeewomen for townships in Douglas County. This is an important meeting and all interested citizens are urged to attend.
