Kathy Bray who lost the race for Douglas County Recorder by 16 votes last week has requested a recount.
County Clerk Karry Davis was out of her office on Wednesday and will be returning today (Thursday), according to Deputy Clerk Valerie Willis.
Davis will contact the Secretary of State’s office for direction on how the recount is to be conducted. It is not known at this time if the ballots will be hand-counted or if they may be run back through the voting machine that is used to tabulate votes on the day of the election.
Republican incumbent Tina Boyd won the nomination and re-election to the office by a vote of 1,777 to 1,761.
