A woman riding across the country on horseback made a stop in Ava on Monday.
Linny Kenney is a musician, artist and leather worker from New Hampshire now residing in San Francisco, Calif.
In March 2010 Kenney started a ride across the country on her horse, Sojourner, from San Francisco to New Hampshire.
The trek has been documented on her blog as Kenney and Sojourner ride into towns along the way gathering stories of family.
Kenney stayed in Ava with Tom and Vicki Durham.
She was greeted by the Ava Lions Club and the Greater Ava Chamber of Commerce with food, home-grown vegetables, cards and other gifts.
She also made a trip to Ava Drug for some ice cream and coffee.
