Corrections: Article Unclear Regarding Zoning Classifications

In last week’s Herald article about the Ava City Council, we described the Ava zoning classifications as:

“The B3 classification is for commercial businesses, while the B4 classification is for industrial and larger businesses.”

The Ava planning & zoning commission’s definition of the B3 designation is:

For the conduct of retail trade and to provide personal services which, due to their character, create an increased traffic flow and higher density of land use.

The definition of the B4 designation is:

Those areas of the city in which principal use is all types of commercial activity including retailing, wholesaling, personal and business services and entertainment along and in close proximity to major transportation arteries which degenerate high volumes of average daily traffic.

We regret and apologize for any confusion or misinterpretation our definition of the classifications gave our readers.
