Twin Pines Family Fishing Day Set For August 8

The Twin Pines Conservation Education Center will host a Free Family Fishing Day on Sunday, Aug. 8, from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. There will be a variety of activities for everyone in the family including fishing, fish print t-shirts, pond study, casting games and more.
Bring a washed t-shirt for the fish prints but a limited supply of kid size t-shirts will be available at no cost.
Volunteers will be handing out goodie bags for the kids and there will be prizes awarded throughout the day.
First fish forms and cameras will be on hand to capture that special first fish moment. We’ll help you fill out the form so your child will receive a special certificate from Missouri’s Governor Jay Nixon.
There will be hot dogs, chips, and drinks served from 1 – 3 p.m. or while supplies last.
For this special event, Director Bob Ziehmer awarded a special permit so everyone in the family can fish with no license requirements. Visitors with disabilities will be able to fish from the ADA accessible covered fishing dock constructed with funds provided by the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation. Fishing poles, tackle and bait will be available for all ages.
So bring the family and join the Twin Pines staff and volunteers and have a little “staycation” on us.
Twin Pines is located in Winona on Highway 60, 1.3 miles east of the intersection of Highway 60 and Highway 19 North.
