As August primaries and November general elections near, I wanted to take a few moments to stress the importance of voting.
Voting is a privilege we all share. If we want to be represented and have our values and our way of life protected we must elect people who represent us and not the special interests of a select few.
If we want to make a difference in Douglas County, Wright County, and throughout Missouri and America we have to make our voices heard by voting.
Many people will vote in presidential elections, but it is in the local elections where your day-to-day life will be most greatly affected.
Therefore, if you are not satisfied with the way things are going in Washington or if you want to ensure Missouri remains a state where individual liberties are not in jeopardy, then get out and vote and let your voice be heard.
“Now more than ever the people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless, and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness, and corruption.” –– James Garfield
