The Douglas County Democratic Central Committee met Tuesday, July 20, to select an individual to be recommended for the office of coroner.
The committee was charged with the task of making a recommendation to the Governor’s Office of a candidate to fulfill the vacancy, created by the resignation of Coroner Mark Pearson.
After following the recommended procedures of soliciting for applicants, and then interviewing the candidates, the Douglas County Democratic Central Committee recommended Steven Little for the position.
“The governor will now review our recommendation and appoint the next coroner for Douglas County,” said Chaz Franzke, treasurer of the Douglas County Democratic Central Committee.
