JEFFERSON CITY — Missouri state government employees will soon have the opportunity to participate in a new discount savings program entitled WeSave Missouri. The program will help employees maximize their household budgets by saving money on goods and services they purchase while earning cash back dollars for themselves – and as an added value – additional dollars for the Missouri State Employees Charitable Campaign.
Effective mid-August, in conjunction with State Employee Recognition Week, the new program will be available to state employees who voluntarily elect to activate their WeSave membership online. There will be no cost to state government, or state employees to participate in the program.
State employees who choose to activate their WeSave membership online using their personal or home email address will have access to cost saving opportunities that include:
•Discounts from local Missouri merchants, grocery stores and restaurants.
•Savings and special offers on a variety of national brand products and services.
•Online shopping with cash back from purchases.
State employees who participate in the WeSave Program may in turn have more dollars to purchase other household items or add to their savings accounts, education or retirement funds.
As an added value, state employees who elect to use WeSave’s online shopping option will also be helping others via a one percent “cash back” donation from their online purchases to the Missouri State Employees Charitable Campaign.
“Saving money on daily purchases is something that can benefit everyone” said Office of Administration Commissioner Kelvin Simmons. “The WeSave Missouri Program is one way to help state employees stretch their income while thanking them for their dedication to public service. By involving businesses throughout the state, it also encourages economic growth, which is equally important in these tight economic times.”
Many Missouri merchants and businesses will be contacted by WeSave in the coming weeks to participate in the WeSave Missouri program. State employees will also have the ability to nominate businesses they frequent for consideration by WeSave.
The Office of Administration coordinates the WeSave Missouri Program and Missouri State Employee Recognition Week.
