Local school officials, higher education leaders, law enforcement officials, and others concerned with keeping our schools as safe as possible will meet next week at the Lake of the Ozarks for the Missouri Safe Schools and Colleges Conference. A major focus of this year’s event will be on the issue of suicide prevention. Suicide is the third leading cause of death among young people 15-24.
The Missouri Safe Schools and Colleges Conference is designed to promote collaboration among the various agencies and organizations that play a role in keeping our schools and higher education institutions safe. Those attending the event will have the opportunity to share best practices and lessons learned from their own experiences.
The event will be held July 21-23 at the Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach.
The conference is produced by the Missouri School Boards’ Association in collaboration with the Missouri Department of Public Safety and the Missouri Office of Homeland Security.
