Nubbin Ridge Homemakers Club Met July 8

Nubbin Ridge Homemakers Club met July 8, in the home of Lois Strong for an afternoon meeting.

Club President, Norma Stillings led the reading of the club collect.

Then Lois read “A Senior Citizens Lament”. Roll call was “What Makes A Good Neighbor”. Lois read the minutes and the treasurer’s report, which was approved as read.

The ladies offered ideas how we could help in our rest home, visiting, those who have no relatives, helping with games or birthday parties, singing groups, etc.

Norma presented our lesson, City Ordinances.

Everyone had fun as we formed a circle to exchange our “Christmas In July” gifts. Lois read a story as we passed our gift several times to the right, then several to the left until the story ended. Then we opened the gifts.

Lois called several games of Bingo. Winners were Bobby, Nadine, Pat and Geraldine. Those enjoying wonderful refreshments were Geraldine Gray, Nadine Letsinger, Eva Painter, Norma Stillings, Pat Banks, Bobbye Priddy and visitor, Clayton Strong from Mt. Vernon, MO., (Lois’ grandson) and hostess, Lois Strong.

We will hold our next meeting on August 12 at 1 p.m. in the Bethany Baptist Church.
