James N. Carrick, 69, Ozark, Mo., passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010 in St. John’s Hospital. He was born May 2, 1941 in Ava the son of Lester and Doris (Garrison) Carrick. On May 25, 1962, James was united in marriage to Joan Hamilton.
James was employed with Kraft Foods for 28 years but his true passion was the flea market business. James was known for finding innovative deals and collections at auctions. He was well respected by those with whom he did business and enjoyed owning two flea markets. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time at his farm in Ava.
James was a Godly man and a member of First Baptist Church of Ozark. He also loved to attend Second Baptist Church in Springfield with his son, where Jeff is a member.
James was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and an infant brother.
James is survived by his wife, Joan and son Jeff both of Ozark; other caring relatives and several friends.
Graveside funeral services were held Wednesday, July 14, in Ava City Cemetery with Rev. Darrell Swearengin officiating, under the care of Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark. Visitation was held 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark.
