Red Cross Helps Family of 9 After Mobile Home Fire

The Greater Ozarks Chapter of the American Red Cross responded to a call for help on July 4, in Douglas County, in the Mtn. Grove area.

A member of the Disaster Action Team (DAT) met with a family of nine, including seven children ranging in ages from 16 months to 13 years.

Their mobile home was completely destroyed by fire and volunteer Tammy Spencer was at the scene to offer comfort and support.  After assessing their basic emergency needs, the family was provided with temporary shelter, food and clothing.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department was unable to provide the Herald with any details of the fire.
