Mark E. Coonts, 47, son of Daniel A. and Betty Lucille Johnson Coonts, was born March 8, 1963 in Springfield, Mo. He departed this life July 2, 2010 in Ava, Mo.
Mark loved to work on cars, especially 4-wheel-drive pick-ups.
The sound of a well-tuned engine “purring” was music to his ears. He was a good mechanic as well as body repairmen. He could start with a bare axle and build a vehicle that would run. He loved to “doll-up” a vehicle, from the chrome wheels up. He liked a shiny rig with lots of chrome. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Daniel A. Coonts.
Mark is survived by his mother, Betty Coonts, of Ava, Mo.; his daughter, Brandy Lynne Coonts, and son, Brandon Daniel Coonts, both of Cabool, Mo.; and a sister, Lavila Ann Coonts, of Springfield, Mo. He will also be missed by a host of other family and friends.
A graveside service was conducted July 6, at Brushyknob Cemetery. All arrangements were under the care and direction of Ava Family Funeral Home.
