Douglas County Herald Correspondent of the Week

Ruby Satterfield, correspondent for the Little Creek community, is a native of this area.  If you ask Ruby how long she has lived in the Ozarks she will quickly say “all 80 years of my life, and I thank God every day for having been born in the best place on earth.”

Throughout the years, Ruby has worn many hats –– she has given back to the community through her service as a school teacher, a dairy farmer’s wife, and possibly most challenging, the accomplishment of raising five children.  Ruby is delighted her children still live in this area.

Throughout the past 25+ years, Ruby has also served the Herald as a writer of community news.  She writes items for Little Creek, an area that begins near Squires and runs past Thornfield.

Ruby’s hobbies are appliquéing and embroidery work, reading, and participating in her quilting club. She also enjoys the special times spent with family and friends.

Ruby is a member of the Clark Church. She lives in Ozark County, just two miles from the Douglas County line.

Ruby,

We appreciate your many contributions and commitment as a community correspondent for the Douglas County Herald.
