At last week’s meeting, we accepted an application from Rick Baker who has attended several meetings prior to that meeting. We also welcomed Loretta Burgin who spoke to us concerning the Community Garden Program which our club has considered getting involved with. We did miss several “regulars” that were out for one reason or another.
At this week’s meeting, Susan Mellentine will be presenting a program on Stroke Prevention. Directly after the meeting, those who can will meet at the nursing home to present our donation after the fireworks fundraiser. We also have some non-perishables and cash to donate to the food harvest which may be done that afternoon.
Our next “big” event will be Douglas County Fair fundraiser which is scheduled for July 22-24. We will probably need 4 or 5 people each of those 3 nights to help. We will be serving strawberry shortcake, funnel cakes and Red Diamond Iced Tea.
