The walking area at the Ava Police Station will be off limits beginning Friday, July 2, by order of the Douglas County Health Department.
Area residents who use that area for exercise will be notified when the area is reopened for public use.
Police Chief Reggie Johnson said the area was ordered closed to the public following a visit by Health Department officials last week. No indication was given as to how long the area will be closed.
