Ava Summer School Approved For 9 Additional Days

Dr. Nancy Lawler, assistant administrator at Ava R-I Schools, said Wednesday that the school has received approval for a grant that will allow for nine additional days of summer school.

The additional days of summer school have been tentatively set for July 6-16, funded through a grant from Community Partnership of the Ozarks.

Parents who are interested in sending their children to the second session of summer school should call the administration office at 683-4717. In the meantime, the school district is also making final arrangements to accommodate the second session which had not previously been considered.

Dr. Lawler said more information will be given out over the school’s automated district-wide telephone messaging system, or parents may call the school for more details.

Bus routes for the July session will be the same as in June.

The first day will begin at 8 a.m. with elementary students gathering in the elementary cafeteria, middle school students in the middle school cafeteria, and high school students in commons area next to the counselor’s office.
