She loved arts, crafts, visiting flea markets, antique stores Virginia Doris Padgett, age 74, of Ozark, passed away Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009. She was born March 21, 1935 in Eugene Ore., the daughter of Roy and Leota Lakey. She grew up in Ava in the home of Paul and Dorothy Haynes.
Doris was a graduate of Ava High School.
On Feb. 20, 1954, she and Tommy T. Padgett were united in marriage. Doris was a member of Selmore Baptist Church.
She retired from Fasco and later operated a ceramics shop. She loved arts and crafts and visiting flea markets and antique stores.
She was preceded in death by her parents; the parents who raised her in Ava; and a son, Johnny Wayne Padgett.
Survivors include her husband, Tommy; a daughter Paulette Riedle, Nixa; four grandchildren, Jeff White, Logan Riedle, Shannon Lopez, and Amber Padgett; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Mae Soult, Chico, Calif.; and a brother, Joe Pyland, Butler.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Josh Hall officiating. Burial was at 1 p.m. at Ava City Cemetery.
