
A jeweler and artist of sculptured coin jewelry Donald Wesley Ousley, 59 years, passed to heaven on Aug. 10, 2009 at his home. Donald was born Sept. 24, 1949 in Davenport, Iowa to Donnie and Mary (Spurlock) Ousley.
Donnie was a jeweler and also an artist where he specialized in sculptured coin jewelry. Early in his career he was a musician and performed in the Branson and Eureka Springs, Ark., area. He also did acting at Silver Dollar City and starred in The Shepherd of the Hills play in Branson.
Donnie had also performed at the Ozarks Mountain Hoedown and The Passion Play at Eureka Springs, Ark. He also was a teacher and taught in the Reeds Spring area.
He grew up on the family farm at Drury, Mo. He graduated from Dora High School as valedictorian. Later he received his BA degree from School of the Ozarks in Hollister, Mo. He was a Christian and Baptized at an early age in the Bryant Creek at Camp Joy. As a youth he attended the Gentryville Community Church.
Donnie is survived by his parents, Don and Mary Lou Ousley, Drury; his fiance, Charlene Enkey, Reeds Spring; two brothers, Larry Ousley, Mansfield, and Bentley Ousley, Kansas City; two sisters, Kathy Rigger, Springfield, and Lisa Croney, Locust Grove, Okla.; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Donnie will be today (Thursday, Aug. 13) at 2 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with burial in the Pleasant Home Cemetery.
