
Missing in action in 1950 while serving U.S. Army in Korea Charles Lee “Leo” Wilson, son of George Alex Wilson and Addie (Miller) Wilson, was born on June 6, 1926 in Bethany, Mo., and was missing in action on Nov. 27, 1950 and presumed dead by the Army on Dec. 31, 1953, while serving in the U.S. Army in Korea, at the age of 27 years.
“Leo” was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, George A. Wilson, Walter Payne, Garland Payne, Earnest Payne, one sister, Marie Stout, two other sisters and other relatives.
He is survived by nephews, Leon Stout, Don Stout, Ronald Stout and Jay Stout; three nieces, Sue Potts, Linda Chamberlain and Jean Pruiett; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be Saturday, Aug. 8, at 2 p.m., at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Brian Letsinger officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, from 1 p.m. to service time. Interment will follow at the Vera Cruz Cemetery with full military honors by Ft. Leonard Wood Honor Detail, Douglas County American Legion Post #112, Ava VFW Post #5993 and the Patriot Guard Riders.
