
A very giving person, often making things to give to others Reba Ellen Herrell, 77, of Ava, departed this life Monday, June 29, 2009. She was born March 22, 1932, at Toledo, Mo., in Ozark County, the daughter of Earl and Ica Wilkinson Turner. On June 2, 1949, she married James A. Herrell, in Wasola, and to this union five children were born.
Reba was a caregiver of her family as well as other people.
She enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and joining the family fishing trips to the lake. She especially liked to go to the Glass Chapel at Eureka Springs, Ark. She was a very giving person, often making things to give to others, such as the baby clothes she quilted and crocheted to give away to newborns at the hospital. She loved to see the smiling faces of little girls she made dolls and doll clothes for. She also enjoyed working in her yard and raising pretty flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Ica Turner; and husband, James A. Herrell.
She is survived by three daughters, Remona Wright, Rhonda Williams and Revay Long; and two sons, Jason Herrell and Jeffery Herrell. She is also survived by one brother, Russell Turner; one sister, Louise Chandler; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by a host of friends and other relatives.
Visitation was hosted Thursday, July 2, with funeral services conducted Friday, July 3, at 10 a.m., in Ava Family Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Thornfield Cemetery. All arrangements were under the care and direction of Ava Family funeral Home.
