
He loved outdoors, enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening Levern Riley, 80 years, passed away on June 1, 2009 at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, Mo.
Levern was born June 18, 1928 in Douglas County, Mo., to William and Dora (Riley) Riley.
Levern was a resident of the Mtn. Grove community since 1962 moving from the Gentryville area. He worked various jobs through his life. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting and tending a garden. He attended the Church of Christ.
Levern and Grace Tillman were united in marriage and she preceded him in death.
Levern was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Junior and Ralph, two sisters, Flo Schroeder and Betty Grover, and his wife, Grace.
Levern is survived by one brother, Marvin Riley, Mtn. Grove, Mo.; cousin, Joe Fleetwood, Mtn. Grove, Mo.; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Levern will be Friday, June 5, 10 a.m. at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Mtn. Grove. Visitation will be Thursday, June 4, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
