Roger A. William, 58


His children, grandchildren and family gave him great joy Roger Alan Williams, 58, of Strafford, passed away, Sunday, April 12, 2009, in St. John’s Hospital surrounded by his wife and children. He was born Dec. 24, 1950, in Dumas, Texas, the son of Jay C. and Maxine (Johnson) Williams.

Roger was a longtime resident and small business owner in Douglas County before moving to Strafford, Mo., 10 years ago. He was a devoted Christian and strove daily to live a life that would be honoring to God. He was a loving husband to his wife of 38 years, Zora, and a dedicated father to his five children. He found great joy in attending his children and grandchildren’s sporting events and spending time with his family and friends. Roger was a man full of life, laughter and a love for people.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jackie, and father, Jay C. Williams.

Roger is survived by his wife, Zora; five children, Ryan Alan Williams and wife Deana, of Springdale, Ark., Chad Michael Williams and wife Jona, of Springfield, Zoe Elizabeth Williams and fiance Brandon Riley, of Abingdon, Md., Daniel Seth Williams and wife Whitney, of Springfield, and Jonathan Woodrow Williams, of Strafford; four grandchildren, Reece, Keaghan, Marissa and Talia Williams; his mother, Maxine Williams; his sister, Rina Daniel and husband Joe, all of Nixa; one niece, one nephew, and many other caring relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Gary Hay officiating. Burial followed in Fannon Cemetery, Ava.

Visitation was held from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 13, in the funeral home.
