Her cherished vocation was loving wife, mother, grandmother Harriet Mae Bennett, 89, passed from this life March 30, 2009, at Heart of the Ozarks Healthcare Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Sept. 21, 1919, in McAllen, Texas, to George William and Hazel Kirk Brown Duvall.
Harriet spent her working years as a deputy clerk in the collector’s office in a small Texas community. But her most cherished vocation was that of loving wife, mother and grandmother. She dearly loved to spend time with her family.
Harriet was a true prim and proper lady. She was always ready, fully dressed including makeup, lipstick, and earrings, just in case somebody would stop by and offer to take her out to eat, shopping or just to spend some time with family or friends.
Funeral services were conducted in the Ava Family Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, March 31, at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Donald Potter officiating. Burial will follow in the Safford Cemetery, Safford, Ariz., on Friday, April 3. All arrangements are under the care and direction of Ava Family Funeral Home.
