
A housewife most of her life. She was a wonderful cook Oma Agnes Sanders was born on Nov. 23, 1916, in Roy, Mo., to Melvin Finley Sanders and Susan Frances Stacey Sanders. She was one of seven children. Fay Guthery, Gertie Barcus, Ola McCall, Gladys Kirkland, Fern Turner and Raymond Sanders all preceded her in death.
In May 1940, Oma was married to Harry Gentry at Hartville, Mo.
Oma and Harry had one daughter, Shirley Kahon of Williams, Ariz.
Oma is survived by her daughter, Shirley and son-in-law Peter Kahon, of Williams, Ariz.; and two grandchildren, Susan Stacey Kahon, of Tucson, Ariz., and Peter N. Kahon, of Amarillo, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
She moved to Sedona, Ariz., in August of 1997 to be near her daughter. Oma was a housewife most of her life. She enjoyed cooking and was a wonderful cook. She liked sewing, making quilts and gardening. She was a member of the Ava Church of Christ.
Services for Oma were held Tuesday, March 17, at 2 p.m. at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with burial following in the Ava Cemetery. Online condolences may be made to www.clinkingbeard funeralhome.com.
