The owner of Joe’s Pawn Shop in Ava for several years Joe Liddell Banister was born Monday, Oct. 7, 1935, in Tupelo, Miss. He passed from this life peacefully in his home near Ava, Mo., on Thursday, March 12, 2009 following an illness.
He was the owner of Joe’s Pawn Shop in Ava for several years. He was always ready to help his friends and neighbors at the pawn shop. Joe would treat his customers as though they were part of the family. He was always known to his friends and family to be one to have a fun time with.
A visitation was hosted at Ava Family Funeral Home Monday, March 16, 11 to 12. Graveside services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, March 16, in the Murray Cemetery. All arrangements were under the care and direction of Ava Family Funeral Home.
