Elsa Denney, 89


She dedicated her life to cooking, sewing and her family Elsa Denney was born on March 11, 1919 to Maude and Ewing Prock, and entered into eternal rest on March 8, 2009 at the age of 89 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar, her daughter, Billie Ann Munson, and infant daughter, Janet; her sister, Alta Hicks, and brother, George Prock.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Stephens and husband, Don, of Tulsa, Okla.; son Roger Denney and wife Paula, of Ketchum, Okla.; daughter, Carol Gifford, of Tulsa, Okla.; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She also is survived by her brother, Boone Prock, of Rolla, Mo.; and a sister, Virginia Reid, of Independence, Mo., along with many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Elsa and Oscar raised their family near Wasola, Mo., and enjoyed many happy years together. She dedicated her life to cooking, sewing and making sure her family was well cared for. She loved card games, scrabble and George Strait.

Elsa moved to Tulsa, Okla., in 2001 to be near her children in the last years of her life. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Elsa will be deeply missed by all of us who loved her so much.

Services for Elsa were Wednesday, March 11, at 1 p.m. at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Ron Pinckney officiating. Interment followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Wasola, Mo.
