
A veteran who served with the U. S. Marines Norman Drew Driskell, son of Thomas J. Driskell and Cora E. (Bell) Driskell, was born on May 28, 1928 in Blanche, Mo., and passed away on Feb. 25, 2009 at Cox South Hospital, Springfield, Mo. at the age of 80 years.
Norman was a resident of Rogersville for 33 years, moving from Springfield.
He was a truck driver with Wil Fischer Distributing.
He was a member of the Eagles Lodge of Ozark. On June 14, 1976 Norman and Jean Medlock were united in marriage at Miami, Okla.
Norman was a veteran and served with the U. S. Marines.
He enjoyed gardening, Cardinal baseball and watching wildlife. He loved helping his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jean; two brothers, Dennis and Dwight, and three sisters, Vera Taylor, Vedith Deaver and Gertrude Dobbs.
His survivors include two stepdaughters, Sandy Jones and husband Kenny and Angela Bowen, all of Marshfield, Mo.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Madonna Turgon, St. Joseph, Mo., Wilma Cowen and Doyle, Strafford, Mo., and Doris Barber, Nixa, Mo.; many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Norman were Saturday, Feb. 28, at 2 p.m. at Blanche Church, Blanche, Mo., with the Rev. Kenny Jones officiating. Interment followed in the Blanche Cemetery.
