Christopher Wayne Petro, 20


A young man with many hobbies, his passion was cooking Christopher Wayne Petro, 20 years, passed to heaven on Feb. 26, 2009 at St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, Mo. Christopher was born Aug. 14, 1988 in Springfield, to Harold and Debbie (Bricker) Petro, Jr.

Christopher was a painter. Christopher was a Christian and was recently baptized. He received his GED and had a graduation ceremony in 2005. He loved being a painter and his work can be seen in and around the surrounding areas.

His hobbies were fishing, sports, playing cards with his friends, drawing crosses and his passion was cooking.

Christopher enjoyed creating and building with his hands. He loved being around nature and especially the water.

Christopher was preceded by his maternal grandfather, Tommy Bricker, paternal grandmother, Joyce Coomer, aunt Mealonie Bricker and cousin, Christopher Malley.

Christopher is survived by his parents, Debbie Petro and Harold Bill Petro, Jr., and Shannon Brown, Ava, Mo.; brother, Michael Petro, Theodosia, Mo.; grandmother, Betty Bricker, Ava, Mo.; grandfather, Harold Petro, Sr., Mtn. Grove, Mo.; uncles, aunts, cousins and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Christopher were Tuesday, March 3, at 2 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with burial in the Goodhope Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastors Vernon Fuller and Kevin Pittman. The family requests memorials to American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
