Mrs. Patsy Marie Johnson, 55


A loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend to all Mrs. Patsy M. Johnson, 55 of Bradleyville, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009 at her residence. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25 at the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home, Forsyth. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the New Mansion General Baptist Church in Bradleyville with the Revs. Jeff Marsh, Randy Dalton and Jeff D. Marsh officiating. Burial will be in the Patterson Cemetery, Bradleyville.

Patsy Marie Johnson was born Monday, March 9, 1953 in Del Norte, Colo., to Thurman and Hazel (Dennis) Combs. She attended school in Bradleyville and graduated from Bradleyville High School as valedictorian in 1975. After graduation, Patsy traveled around the country for some time and moved back to Taney County where she worked for Hagale Industries as a seamstress for many years. She then reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Delbert Johnson. They were married on April 29, 1978 in Bradleyville.

She was a stay-at-home mom for a while and then she went to work in the banking profession. She worked for Boatmen’s Bank in Forsyth, Century Bank in Ava and finally First Community Bank of the Ozarks in Forsyth as a personal banker. She retired in May of 2008.

Patsy was a woman of strong faith. She was a member of the New Mansion General Baptist Church in Bradleyville where she served as the Sunday school superintendent and song leader for many years. She enjoyed painting landscapes and seascapes, flower gardening, reading mystery novels, cooking large meals for her family and singing. She was especially fond of her cat, Chung Lee. Patsy also loved to travel with her best friend, Kathy Fleetwood, and made trips together every year. She is fondly remembered by her family and friends as being a very courageous, caring, loving, kind person. She was very active in the community and was admired by all. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all.

She is survived by her husband, Delbert Johnson, of Bradleyville; one son, Dustin Johnson and wife Chi’Anna, of Bradleyville; two daughters, Stephonie (Bryant) Spray and husband John, of Evans, Ga., and Amanda Rogers and husband Duane, of Reeds Spring, Mo.; sister, Kathy Fleetwood and husband Tim, of Taneyville; eight grandchildren, Samantha, Tucker and Tabetha Bryant, Curry Spray, Hannah, Dean and Ethan Rogers and Brenley Johnson.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials in memory of Patsy Marie Johnson may be made to the New Mansion General Baptist Church, Bradleyville.
