Sean enjoyed his family and taking his kids to ball games. He was a light and an inspiration to all. Sean Ray Dobbs, son of Don and Patricia “Pat” Coonts Dobbs, was born on June 19, 1973 in Springfield, and went home to Heaven on Jan. 23, 2009 from his home at the age of 35 years.
Sean was a lifelong resident of the Ava community. He was a printer with the Herald Publishing Company (Douglas County Herald) in Ava.
Sean was a graduate of Ava High School.
On Nov. 30, 1991 Sean and Rhonda Johnson were united in marriage and to this union four children were born.
Sean enjoyed hunting, football, playing with his kids and taking them to all the ball games. He also enjoyed working with cattle. Sean was a Christian and was saved in 1992. He was called to preach in 2005 and spoke in several local churches. Sean was a light and an inspiration to all.
Survivors include his wife, Rhonda, and the children, Samantha, Seth, Abbey and Casey Dobbs all of the home, Ava, Mo.; his parents, Don and Pat Dobbs, Ava; three siblings, Carla Dobbs, Ava, Kelly Carlson and Brent, Ozark, Mo., and Scottie Dobbs, Ava; grandmother, Frances Coonts, Ava; father and mother-in-law, Danny and Connie Johnson, Ava; grandmother-in-law, Betty Jenkins, Ava; sister-in-law, Christi Adams and husband, Justin, and nephews, Jaren and Rylan; and a host of many other relatives and friends.
Services for Sean were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with Revs. Neal Crum, Butch McCleary and Randy Dalton officiating. Interment was in the Evans Cemetery. Visitation was held Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests memorials to Ava Victory Academy or love gifts to the children.
