Great-granddaughter of the late Clarence and Doris Singleton and Audie and Katie Krider Stephanie Renee (Krider) Vest, 34, lost her courageous battle with cancer on Dec. 2, 2008, and went to be with her Heavenly Father. After struggling for months with a lingering, undiagnosed illness, it was determined that Stephanie was suffering from a rare form of cancer called gamma delta lymphoma. She received this diagnosis in August 2008, just a few weeks after giving birth to her third child.
Stephanie was so connected to Ava, Mo., and Douglas County.
She is the great-granddaughter of the late Clarence and Doris (Spurlock) Singleton and Audie and Katie (Potter) Krider; the great-niece of Evelyn Singleton Cantwell and the late Burl and Pauline Krider; and the great-great-niece of Opal Singleton.
She is survived by her loving husband, Eric; sons Zachary, 7, and Cole, 4, and infant daughter Gracelyn; her father, Steve Krider; and grandmother Faye Krider.
Services for Stephanie were held on Dec. 10, 2008, at the Baptist Temple Church in Lee’s Summit, Mo. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations go directly to the Hands of Compassion, a ministry of the Church of Christ, PO Box 7266, Rochester, MN 55903. This great ministry arm of the church affords (free of charge) housing to families who have a long period of stay at the Mayo Clinic.
